SPIRITUALLY CURIOUS

Got questions about faith?

We love questions at New Life. We believe that everyone should have the chance to explore the Christian faith, ask questions, and share their point of view. We also believe that Jesus has a

SPIRITUALLY CURIOUS

Alpha

Alpha is a chance to explore life and the Christian faith in a friendly, open and informal environment. Our gatherings typically begin with a (free!) dinner, followed by a short talk and small group discussions. Alpha is for anyone who is interested in investigating Christianity, new to church, or new to Christianity. We typically meet on Thursday nights starting at 7pm.

Come for great conversation with others who are exploring life and faith in an 8 week discussion series; no strings attached. What do you have to lose?

New Life School of Formation

The School of Formation at New Life exists to develop leaders to live deeply formed lives. We are a diverse multiracial community learning a radical paradigm of spiritual formation that encompasses the following 5 values:

Contemplative Rhythms

Slowing down our lives to be with God.

Interior Examination

Looking beneath the surface of our lives to live free and love well.

Racial Justice and Reconciliation

Examining a multilayered approach where we learn to live as a new family in Christ, bridging racial, cultural, economic and gender barriers.

Sexual Wholeness

Exploring how our sexuality connects to our spirituality.

Missional Presence

Living as the presence of Christ in a broken world.

Our Statement of Faith

New Life Fellowship Church affirms the historic Nicene Creed as our primary statement of faith. All orthodox streams of Christianity affirm this creed, which dates back to the 4th century. It is more than an intellectual checklist of doctrines. It is a confession of worship that forms us as the people of God and draws us together into the life of the Father, Son, and Holy Spirit.

The Nicene Creed

We believe in one God, the Father, the Almighty, maker of heaven and earth, of all that is, seen and unseen.

We believe in one Lord, Jesus Christ, the only Son of God, eternally begotten of the Father, God from God, Light from Light, true God from true God, begotten, not made, of one Being with the Father. Through him all things were made. For us and for our salvation he came down from heaven; by the power of the Holy Spirit he became incarnate from the Virgin Mary and was made man. For our sake he was crucified under Pontius Pilate; he suffered death and was buried. On the third day he rose again in accordance with the Scriptures; he ascended into heaven and is seated at the right hand of the Father. He will come again in glory to judge the living and the dead, and his kingdom will have no end.

We believe in the Holy Spirit, the Lord, the giver of life, who proceeds from the Father [and the Son].1  With the Father and the Son he is worshiped and glorified. He has spoken through the Prophets. We believe in one holy catholic2 and apostolic Church. We acknowledge one baptism for the forgiveness of sins. We look for the resurrection of the dead, and the life of the world to come. Amen.

Monastic

A life oriented by rhythms of prayer, silence, solitude, rest and community
Our Monastic value informs the kind of rhythms we seek to live in our fast and busy city. At New Life, we draw deeply from the contemplative and monastic tradition. As the Desert Fathers and Mothers (and subsequently, monks did), we seek to “fashion a desert” in the midst of a world desperately in need of God. To that end, we endeavor to live a slowed down spirituality.

Multiracial

A spirituality that intentionally bridges racial, cultural, economic & gender barriers
The gospel is good news that tears down walls and builds bridges. We are a community with people from over 75 nations and from all along the socioeconomic spectrum. We value being a church that gives a preview of what God’s kingdom will look like when Jesus fully and finally reigns.

eMotional Health

A spirituality committed to interiority for the sake of loving well
At the core of the Christian faith is love. Jesus commands us to love our neighbor as we love ourselves. Our eMotional Health value seeks to help us do this practically. We are all invited to look beneath the surface of our lives to experience the deep, transformation power of Jesus.
